Half-Life 3 Set to Be Open-World Game?

"Half-Life 3" has not yet been made official and even its existence is doubtful, but still the game is generating a fair amount rumors. Per reports, the next installment in the "Half-Life" series, from Valve, could turn out to be an open-world game.

French site journaldugamer has disclosed the details in a report and added that it got the information from an anonymous source. The new report has arrived after it was revealed that a game with the title "Half-Life 3" was seen in Steam Greenlight.

The French site states that while "Half-Life 3 FPS" will remain a action-oriented title, fans will be treated to many RPG elements like open-world, quests, and NPCs. Moreover, the developers, in working with the new game, have drawn inspiration from "Elder Scrolls."

The site also states that "the development is very chaotic." The project, reportedly, was revived several times mainly because of the revisions made to the gameplay with added puzzles and more improvements made to the game's exploration feature. Although no specific release date has been mentioned as of now, the game is very likely to arrive in 2013.

Experts opine that the latest shift to open-world could be responsible for the delay in release.
