Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 Developer Edition Released

Verizon has more to offer as far as the popular Samsung Galaxy S3 is concerned. Per reports, Verizon has released a developer edition of the Galaxy S3. The device has arrived nearly two months after it was first revealed.

The developer edition of the device is available in Pebble Blue and comes in both 16GB and 32GB versions. While the 16GB avatar has been priced at $600, the 32GB will require users to shell out $50 more. The specs, like Qualcomm S4 Krait and 2GB of RAM under a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED screen; however, have been kept similar to the original handset.

Additionally, it has now been confirmed that the Galaxy S3 can be hacked via NFC, and this will allow attackers to download all data from the Android smartphone. Security researchers detailed and demonstrated the process during the Mobile Pwn2Own contest in Amsterdam, previously.

The new NFC-based exploit is aimed at a document viewer application that comes as a default installed app on the Galaxy S2, S3, and some HTC phones, they explained.

The specific targeted apps, however, were not revealed as the security researches did not want others to take advantage of the exploit. The vulnerability was tested on both the S2 and the S3 and worked on both phones.
