Motorola's Droid Bionic users finally have something to look forward to. Per reports, Motorola Mobility has announced that the company is planning to push out the highly-awaited Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for its Droid Bionic in Q4 2012.
The new report has arrived after Motorola's new VP of product Punit Soni promised on Google Plus to improve the company's poor track record as far as supporting its devices with software updates are concerned.
Previously, the Droid Bionic was scheduled for an Ice Cream Sandwich update in Q3 2012, but now it seems like the company will not be able to make the deadline. Therefore, Google-owned Motorola has now issued a new set of plans that states that the Droid Bionic, along with the Droid Xyboard 8.2 and Xoom Family Edition, will now get the update in the fourth quarter.
"We are doing our best to do the right thing. Bionic ICS is in my radar," Soni stated in his Google Plus page. "And we are working hard to fix this state of affairs. However large ships cant change directions overnight and this will take time. In the meantime we are on it as hard as we can."
The released set of plans state that the company has "further plans" for Atrix 2, Photon 4G, and Electrify. While devices like Motorola Xoom (Wi-Fi), Droid Razr, and Droid Razr Maxx are already getting the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update, others like Droid X2, Droid 3, and Droid Pro will remain on Gingerbread (Android 2.3).
