Microsoft Improves Government Cloud With New Version Of Azure And Office 365

Microsoft has just launched its Department of Defense-specific versions of Office 365 and Azure. The tech company has previously provided US government agencies with its Government Cloud service. Microsoft has also added two new regions for its Azure Government in the South West and South Central US.

Cloud computing has become a staple in businesses. The national, federal, state and local government agencies have also realized the significance of cloud. It allows people to be more productive. Cloud also enables collaboration. Thus, these government agencies are able to provide good service.

Microsoft's Government Cloud

Microsoft boasts their Government Cloud as the most trusted and comprehensive cloud for the government. Apparently, they are more committed than other cloud providers. The improvements Microsoft has done on their Government Cloud will prove that.

The physically isolated versions of Department of Defense-specific Azure Government and Office 365 US Government Defense will be available by the end of 2016. An additional two dedicated regions will connect the networks of the Department of Defense (DoD) by means of the Microsoft Express Route.

Department Of Defense's Impact Level 5

The new versions are designed to meet DoD's Impact Level 5 controls. It will permit the use of the said cloud computing platform in managing controlled information for DoD's National Security System data. Microsoft is yet to get the DoD Impact Level 5 Provisional Authorization for Azure and Office 365.

Microsoft also revealed that they are going to expand in Arizona and Texas. The two new Azure Government regions is an addition to the other four dedicated regions for government customers. The tech company pointed out that this is more than any other cloud provider. It gives a range of options for the government agencies on where they host their data.

Office 365

Corporate VP for Cloud Marketing Julia White has talked to TechCrunch about the significance of the Office 365 to their government customers. She said that people have been turning to clouds.

The Office 365 will fit perfectly with the transfer of productivity suites online.

Most Trusted Cloud Service Provider

Government Cloud has about 6 million users in more than 7,000 federal state and local government customers. The number also reflects the trust of their customers. Microsoft was rated as the Most Trusted Cloud Service Provider based on a recent survey by Penn Schoen Berland.
