Samsung is back in the news, and this time for an entirely new device. Per reports, the company is sending out invitations for an Oct. 11 press event for a new device, allegedly the Galaxy S3 Mini, with a tagline that states "So big can be small. And so small can be big."
The invitation is in German and reads "Prepare for something small to make a big entrance," and elsewhere, "Ready for a little sensation?" Additionally, the characteristic S-series logo in the background points to the release of a small Galaxy S device.
However, expectations could slightly crumble on press event day as the reported device could also turn out to be the Galaxy Ace 3, though most hopes are pinned for a new, smaller avatar of the highly popular Galaxy S3. The S3 Mini, as the name suggests, is a smaller iteration of the Samsung's flagship device, the Galaxy S3.
Rumors indicate that the Galaxy S3 Mini will sport a 4-inch Super AMOLED display with 480 x 800 pixels resolution. A 1GHz dual-core processor will power the device. Speculations suggest that the S3 Mini will likely run the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and feature a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera.
The latest information has arrived after it was reported that EE has announced that it will stock the 4G-ready Samsung Galaxy Note 2 from Oct. 15. Also, the Note 2 is set for a U.S. entry and the manufacturer has already started sending out invites for its Oct. 24 press event at New York City, where the phablet will be unveiled.
Currently, the U.S. carriers are making the necessary preparations to launch the Note 2 in the country, after it was reported that the gadget was recently sighted at the FCC, where some interesting aspects of the device were revealed.
The FCC documents indicate that the U.S. version of Note 2 will retain the quad-core Exynos processor found on the International model. The FCC documents also states that although the Note 2 will hit the U.S. market with a Quad-Core Exynos CPU, the overall design of the gadget will change from one carrier to the other.
