Samsung Galaxy S4 To Arrive With 13MP Shooter?

While Samsung maintains its hold on the Internet with rumors of new handsets and devices that are tipped to arrive either in the fourth quarter or early next year, the latest rumor to make its way states that the upcoming Galaxy S4 will have a 13-megapixel camera.

The company's flagship offering - Samsung Galaxy S3 - has created a lot of stir in the market both among users and tech experts, and seems to be the hottest Android-based device at the moment. However, after the Galaxy S4's alleged upcoming appearance at MWC 2013, more reports on the smartphone's supposed features are starting to turn up.

The Galaxy S3 sports a pretty decent 8-megapixel rear-facing camera. However, if the manufacturer is currently aiming at increasing the camera's megapixel count with the Galaxy S4, it could come in the company's way of retaining the slim body line of its flagship Android phone. The new device is also speculated to have camera improvements along with the higher pixel count.

However, a higher megapixel count will pose a challenge for a device to perform well in low light conditions, for as soon as a low light condition sets in, pixels get smaller and the noise gets in quite easily.

The Korean media reported that a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with 4208 x 3120 pixels resolution, which was originally meant to be used first in the Galaxy S3 and/or Samsung Note 2, could now finally arrive with the rumored Galaxy S4. The report also stated that the 13-megapixel module will have parameters like 8.5(L) x 8.5(W) x 5.9(H), and will finally be made available by the end of February 2013.

The new information regarding the Samsung's purported new smartphone has arrived after it was reported that the company had started sending out invitations for an Oct. 11 press event for a new device, allegedly the Galaxy S3 Mini.
