Despite "Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier" not being a huge FPS hit in a market governed by the likes "Call of Duty" and "Battlefield," Ubisoft has continued to offer its support to game as well as the fans. Per reports, the company has announced the Khyber Strike DLC pack, the third DLC pack.
Khyber Strike will feature a new adversarial game type called "Takeover," three new multiplayer maps, a new Guerrilla Mode co-op map, new achievements, and an increased level cap. Takeover will be similar to a classic Team Death Match. Players here will be scoring points for their respective teams by eliminating enemies.
"Tip the scales by taking control of the enemy's objective and earn a score multiplier to your team. Defend your team's objective to prevent the enemy from gaining the same advantage. Choose to split your team to defend and attack at the same time, or move as a group and overwhelm your enemy. When the mission ends, the team with highest score wins," states the official page.
The three new multiplayer maps include Switchback, Palace, and Transit. Switchback will take the player from the main road, leading down into the city, and into a labyrinth of ancient buildings and narrow alleys. Switchback is meant to provide close-quarters action experience.
Palace, on the other hand, will place gamers in an old building that once used to be a museum dedicated to showing the glories of the past. Fans can also expect a massive courtyard where all the action will take place.
Transit, however, is set in a Moscow metro station for more close-quarter action. The danger faced has been increased via the continuous movement of trains pulling into and out of the station, while gamers slug it out underground.
Apart from these inclusions a new guerrilla mode map called Village is also available. As the name suggests, gamers will now find themselves in a peaceful countryside that has been transformed into a battlefield. Players are expected to fight their way around its central bus station and amidst long alleyways consisting of war-damaged buildings. An explosive shootout will also happen near the town's gas station.
Note that the Village map can be played alone, on split-screen, and also on LAN. New achievements and +10 Level Cap increase have also been added.
Khyber Strike will be available for download on Oct. 9 on Xbox 360 (800 Microsoft Points) and Oct. 10 for PlayStation 3 ($9.99).
