‘Narcos’ Season 3 Spoilers, News & Updates: Boyd Holbrook As Steve Murphy Returning? Cali Cartel Confirmed The New Villain

"Narcos" season 3 is set to return mid 2017 with major plot changes. For one, Cali Cartel takes center stage as the main villain of the season. Actor Boyd Holbrook meanwhile has been reported to return on the show.

Boyd Holbrook Is Returning?

After the confirmation from Netflix that "Narcos" will still run for two more seasons, fans must have been delighted by the news. More so, the reported comeback of Holbrook on the show as Steve Murphy must be welcomed by avid followers of the hit Netflix series. It can be recalled that Steve Murphy went back to the U.S. after Paulo Escobar (Wagner Moura) died in the first season. Murphy had served Escobar in the Columbian drug trade.

Another rumor regarding Holbrook's comeback disclosed that Holbrook might be able to be recast back on the show, but will not be there until the end due to his commitment to the upcoming sci-fi film "The Predator." There is no confirmation though until now from the showrunners.

Cali Cartel: The New Villain

Following the end of Escobar's leadership in drug trade, a new villain has been spoiled to put some spice on "Narcos" season 3 - the Cali Cartel. As teased in its latest trailer, Pablo Escobar faded out while Gilberto Rodriguez Orejuela (Damian Alcazar) faded in. According to speculations, this only means one thing: Cali Cartel will be the show's primary villain for this season. Gilberto Orejuela leads Cali Cartel alongside his brothers Miguel Orejuela and Pacho Herrera. Cali Cartel has dominated the Medellin Cartel and started importing cocaine to Colombia.

First Spoilers: Javier Pena On The Podium

In the previous week, "Narcos" season 3 was teased when a photo leaked showing Javier Pena (Pedro Pascal) on the podium. According to reports, the image was taken in the set for a press conference which may be related to Escobar's death.

"Narcos" season 3 is expected to hit Netflix by August or September 2017.
