Mass Effect 3 – Retaliation DLC Brings More to Multiplayer

Bioware has announced the upcoming Retaliation DLC pack for the company's popular title "Mass Effect 3." The new pack is set to include Collectors to the game as enemies, and has other additions such as map upgrades, new class kits, new weapons, and more.

"The battle to save the galaxy rages on and a familiar foe returns in the largest downloadable content pack to-date for Mass Effect 3 multiplayer! Available to download at no additional charge, Mass Effect 3: Retaliation ups the challenge by adding treacherous environmental hazards to existing maps and will introduce the infamous Collectors as a new enemy faction in multiplayer," the official page states.

Per the developers, the new features to arrive alongside the DLC include the following:

New "Hazard" Versions of Existing Maps - Players can now declare war across six maps with a regular rotation of Firebases that have been introduced to set different hazards and traps on the way of the player. Players will also need to survive the onslaught of Acid, Lightening, Meltdowns, Sandstorms, Swarms, and Whiteouts.

New Deadly Enemy Faction - Prepare to come face-to-face with Collector Praetorian, Scion, Abomination, Trooper, and Captain. Cerberus has also enlisted the Dragoon to their ranks, with the Geth deploying new Drones to the battlefield.

New Unlockable Weapons - The arrival of Collectors has also brought in a host of deadly new weapons to the fight. The new weapons include: Collector Assault Rifle, Sub-Machine Gun, and Sniper Rifle. Players can unlock these weapons and other new equipment upgrades to build to their arsenal.

New Class Kits to Unlock - As mentioned earlier, a host of new characters have joined the war to fight the new threat together. The chararcters include the Turian Havoc Soldier, Turian Ghost Infiltrator, and more yet-to-be-added characters that are expected to arrive as the weeks progress.

New Powerful Upgrades - Now three new ammo modifications to gear-up the weapons are available, alongside the option to fortify the gear with five unique upgrades needed to defeat even the toughest foes.

New Multiplayer Challenge Feature - A new "Challenges" database has been introduced that will help players keep track of their progress, and could also possibly end up being the best soldier in the Alliance. Players will also get the chance to complete various multiplayer assignments and other feats of strength to unlock titles and banners to display in-game, and can also later compare their progress against friends.

“Mass Effect 3: Retaliation” will be available for download on Oct. 9 on Xbox LIVE and the Origin client software, and on PlayStation Network in North America on Oct. 9 and in Europe on Oct. 10.
