Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini Revealed By Nordic Retailer

Samsung is back among rumors and this time it's the eagerly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini. Per reports, the heavily rumored device has already started showing up in some European retailers' systems, most recently listed by a North European retailer Net Shop.

The Galaxy S3 Mini has been in the picture for quite some time now, since it was first revealed. The device is expected to arrive as a 4-inch WVGA model, and is said to be similar to the U.S. version of the Galaxy S3. The device is said to be running a dual-core SoC.

Not much has been known from the retailer Web site, but it has been stated that the S3 Mini will arrive in metallic blue, normal blue, and white, and with different version with or without Near Field Communication (NFC) support. Oddly enough, it seems from the listings that the device's that have been incorporated with NFC cost less than the ones without NFC and, therefore, the move does not follow any logic or make business sense.

Moreover, with the company's ongoing fight to dominate the smartphone market against Apple, it is expected that Samsung will start incorporating NFC in all its future smartphones, just to compete with Apple's version of Passbook. However, it is still a mystery as to how a device without NFC could cost more than the one that has the technology built into it.

The new report on the S3 Mini has arrived after it was revealed that the device will be available starting this month. If this information on the arrival of the device is taken into consideration, the device could actually end up arriving before the official release of the original Galaxy S3′s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system software update.

The Galaxy S3 Mini is rumored to sport a 4-inch Super AMOLED display with 800 x 480 pixels resolution. A dual-core processor clocked at 1GHz will power the device. The S3 Mini will likely run the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and will come with a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera.

The device is speculated to be unveiled on Oct. 11 and reports suggest that it will come in Marble Blue and Ceramic White.
