EA's "FIFA" franchise's massive popularity is seemingly the major reason for the amount of problems the latest "FIFA 13" is facing, particularly because a huge number of fans want to play the game at the same time. EA, however, is aware of the problems and has accordingly released fixes and updates so as to not lose out on the game's popularity.
The problems came into being because the "FIFA" franchise is huge. Until EA improves the franchise's infrastructure, there will be more problems due to the number of people trying to access the game, especially its online iteration.
As far as "FIFA 13" is concerned, the company has already done a maintenance check on Oct. 10, with the next check scheduled for Oct. 12. The updates and fixes are already being pushed out by EA for PC gamers, with separate upgrades for console players - Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 - coming a little later.
The Oct. 10 maintenance check had already addressed issues like duplicate match results in Seasons and Online Friendlies, with users being relegated from Division 1 in Seasons with matches remaining, and also the stuck and missing items in the FIFA Ultimate Team watch list and trade pile.
The new update, which has been pushed out for the game, will be addressing certain issues inside the game that are deemed to have the biggest impact on gamers. Per reports, the update includes matchmaking settings in Pro Clubs (with "ANY" and "Match Keeper") that will now provide the desired results, and Napoli in Serie A will now have fully authentic kits and crests in "FIFA" and "FIFA Ultimate Team."
Other important changes include alterations made in National Squad where the Manager Mode screen was earlier not reflected properly, fixes applied to the freezing issue in the Pro Clubs Results screen, stability in Career Mode when players retire or are being bought back from loan, as well as the notorious freezing issue in FUT Online Tournament HUB on PS3.
For PC players, the freeze while retrieving Hospitality Settings has also been taken care of.
"Some fans may wonder why we can't fix all the known issues at once. That's a fair question and the answer isn't quite as simple," the official FIFA 13 Blog reads. "We are delivering improvements and fixes in such a way to ensure the millions of people playing FIFA 13 each day do not experience undue or overly lengthy network/server outages, that title updates and other improvements are done to a high quality, and that we're confident the changes will improve the FIFA 13 experience for everyone."
EA has also scheduled an additional server outage and update on Oct. 11. The new maintenance check will address issues like changes to error messaging in FIFA Ultimate Team Web and the EA SPORTS Football Club app, leaderboards not displaying the correct gamertag, and a few more fixes to the Auction House in FIFA Ultimate Team.
