Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 Gets Nintendo 3DS, PSP Launch Date

While EA continues to enjoy its dominance in the market with the recently released "FIFA 13," on the back of a massively popular "FIFA" franchise, the company's immediate rival Konami has quietly launched the next iteration of "Pro Evolution Soccer" - "Pro Evolution Soccer 2013."

Per reports, the company has revealed the release dates for "Pro Evolution Soccer 2013" for Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation Portable, and has also confirmed that a Nintendo 3DS version will soon follow.

Konami states that the games will be released on Oct. 25 in North America, and the 3DS version of it will follow "shortly afterwards." Wii users will also be able to enjoy "PES 2013" starting Nov. 15.

"As promised, PES 2013 will be releasing on PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable on October 25th, so you can enjoy them for another year on your favourite platform. Wii users will also be able to enjoy PES 2013 on November 15th, as the saga returns for another go on Nintendo's console," stated the official Web site.

The information on the release dates for 3DS, PSP, and PS2 came after the company officially released the game on Sept. 25 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

Moreover, Konami has also planned a free DLC update, one of several planned by the company, which is now set to arrive on Oct. 11. The new update is said to improve and upgrade team rosters, and also include a new Online Community Mode, which allows fans to play several game modes while waiting in the game's matchmaking lobby. The DLC will not only contain the greatly anticipated roster updates, which will include all summer transfers, but also add a host of new online game modes.

The company also stated that its biggest addition will be the "new Online Community Mode, which will come with an integrated widget that will allow players to play different game modes while waiting for opponents and which serves as a shortcut to gathering and finding online friends."

In the Online Community mode, apart from being able to create communities and track results, up to four players will be able to join up and form a team and play against other community teams. What this means is that up to eight players will now be able to play the game simultaneously.

Amongst these upgrades, the company has also implemented several tweaks to improve the overall online performance.

"PES 2013" will exclusively feature both the UEFA Champions League and the South American Copa Libertadores competitions.
