Google is currently making changes to its Play Store. Per reports, Google has started rolling out an updated Google Play Store version 3.9.16 that follows the previous version 3.8.17, released back in August.
Android owners will now notice a few small changes the company has made to its app store, and to everybody's delight, a few users, who already updated to the Play Store's newest version, have even reported several changes. Apparently, the new update has also brought some much-requested improvements.
While there are a few new tweaks and changes made to the Google Play, the biggest one has to be the ability to attain greater control over the All Apps list. The All Apps list slows down the users' accounts thanks to the innumerable apps they have downloaded over the years. More control on the list now means users have the option to keep a check on the previous apps and remove the ones that bogged down the user's account.
Presently, when users open the tab in the latest version, they will be presented with a certain symbol at the side of each application that will allow them to remove the list altogether with a simple tap on the symbol. Moreover, at the same time, a long press will allow the user to select multiple apps that are needed to be deleted, at any given time. It's a welcome addition made to the store, considering there is an option to even delete old apps that were forgotten in time, which are now just a nuisance for the user.
Google has also made a few changes, as far app notification is concerned. The company, according to reports, has included a somewhat improved notification system for app updates, which, of course, can be made useful for owners with Android devices running Android v4.1 Jelly Bean.
The new update takes advantage of the new expandable notifications and presents the update notifications for the apps that need to be upgraded, or the ones which have just received a new update from the developers. The list also retains a user's position while scrolling up and down, and the next time they go into it, the list will start from the very place the user left last time.
Interestingly, the size of the update is small compared to the last rollout. Google, it seems, decided to shed some extra weight from this one.
