Sony and Microsoft are going head-to-head as far as the two heavily rumored gaming consoles - PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720 - are concerned. Now, per reports, Sony has revealed a short, 16-second advertisement on its PlayStation YouTube channel.
The new advertisement features a woman sitting at a desk, and this is the same woman from the famous Michael Ad that Sony released only last year. The previous advertisement celebrated some of Sony's characters, and also a gamer named Michael who assisted them all on their epic adventures.
The new teaser trailer is known as The Reload," which is shorter than the original Michael Ad that was over two minutes long, and according to IGN, "there are some clues in the video that indicate what Sony could be teasing."
"At the outset of the video, there are a couple of things worth noting. There's a clock on the wall next to the mysterious figure at the desk, with the PlayStation's four controller symbols on it. Additionally, there's a sign on the desk that says SARU! GET YOU!, a reference to Sony's Ape Escape franchise," reports IGN.
However, per the new report, the biggest feature of the new clip is when the power goes out and viewers can hear a weird electrical sound that may have some resemblance to Cole from "Infamous," and could also mean that Cole is nearby. "The woman at the desk looks up at whoever is there, almost disappointed, as she basks in the glow of the electricity."
At the end of the advertisement, the date shown is Oct. 23, 2012, which, apparently, is the date when the new PlayStation Store design will finally go live in North America. According to IGN, the title of the video, along with this date, could "indicate that this is the most obvious answer to what the video is teasing."
The video could also suggest the possibility of a new PlayStation console, but that is just an assumption keeping in mind the number of rumors that console is currently generating.
The new trailer has arrived recently after it was reported that the launch of the Sony-made gaming console could possibly be stretched a bit more than its yet-to-be revealed arrival date.
