Former "Grey's Anatomy" actress Katherine Heigl has been reported anew to reprise her role as Izzie Stevens in season 13. While the medical drama TV series is currently running, there are already speculations that Heigl is under negotiation for her comeback on the show.
Katherine Heigl is in the rumor mill again for her reported comeback on "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 as Izzie Stevens, one of the first characters of the show. While unconfirmed, reports are circulating that ABC is indeed negotiating with Heigl's camp. However, rumors that have surfaced this time are founded.
Hints Of Izzie's Comeback
According to a report from Cosmopolitan, Izzie Stevens' character might be given back her screen time in the near future following some hints. In episode 4 aired last Oct. 13, Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) was at the clinic of Izzie, which for many fans must be weird. Going back in previous seasons in the past five years, Izzie had been referenced for many times over.
Izzie Is Instrument To Alex's Life
As promised by "Grey's Anatomy" executive producers during the premiere episode, season 13 will be a turning point for Alex's life. For avid viewers, there's nothing more massive to happen in Alex's life than to bring Izzie back on the show. They believe that Izzie is the best instrument to revive Alex's misery.
No Word From Executive Producer
Amid all these speculations, executive producer Shonda Rhimes has not yet released any official statement with regard to the rumored comeback. It can be noted that back in 2010, Rhimes decided to write off Izzie Stevens from the script following her rift with Heigl.
In 2008, the actress first slammed "Grey's Anatomy's" show writers for not giving her character a strong enough material so she could score a win an Emmys nomination. Two years after, Heigl negotiated an exit from the show way ahead of her contract. Later on, Heigl expressed she wanted a closure for Izzie Stevens' role. Even so, Rhimes shrugged off the idea.
