Nintendo has finally released its NX console, which is now officially called Switch. As a hybrid console, the Nintendo Switch allows players to connect the console to their TV or use it as a handheld controller in tablet style. The detachable controllers also allow players to play while standing up. Most of all, the Nintendo Switch Dock can be used to power up the system and for charging.
Nintendo Switch Dock Makes Portable Playing Possible
With the help of the Nintendo Switch Dock, players can easily connect their console to their TV. However, a Nintendo representative explains that the dock itself is not the Switch's main console unit. What the dock does is that it provides a TV output and allows the charging and powering up of the game system. The actual Nintendo console is the LCD screen with the two detachable Joy-Con controllers, known as Joy-Con L and Joy-Con R.
Nintendo also stated that the main reason why the Nintendo Switch Dock was created is to provide a seamless transition for gamers from playing games on TV to making the switch in portable mode. Nintendo said: "The main unit of Nintendo Switch is the unit that has the LCD screen, which the two Joy-Con controllers can be attached to and detached from. The main function of the Nintendo Switch Dock is to provide an output to the TV, as well as charging and providing power to the system."
New Hardware And Better Performance
In an interview, Nintendo was also asked if the Switch will have a touchscreen support sometime in the future. However, the company refused to provide any other comment but said that they will announce any further development and things that they would like to add on the hardware of Nintendo Switch before launching anything.
Given that the Nintendo Switch Dock would not be limited by a battery life, then there is a great possibility for the Switch to still increase its performance. But right now, nothing much is still known about the technical specs of Nintendo's new console.
The Nintendo Switch trailer was revealed yesterday in the U.K. and will be available on retail by March 2017.
