343 Industries’ upcoming first-person title “Halo 4” has been gaining a lot of attention since it was first announced and it is no surprise that the upcoming game has more to reveal just days before its official launch. Now, per reports, players who have somehow got early access (considered illegal) to the game have divulged details pertaining to the armor abilities and tactical packages, which will be available as soon as the game officially hits the market.
As far as obtaining abilities and tactical packages are concerned, aside from the starter set, the players will need to level their characters and earn what is now known as Spartan Points, which is just another form of credit obtained from “Halo Reach.” Once the player is equally leveled and has just enough Spartan Points, they will be able to purchase new armor abilities and mods for their loadouts.
Note that Spartan Points can be earned in several ways. While the primary method remains via getting kills in-game, other similar ways include completing entire matches, earning medals, and more. The points can also be used to buy upgraded weapons, and per sources, players will start “Halo 4” only with an assault rifle and a pistol. Other weapons will be available as soon as the players start making Spartan Points while playing games.
The available armor abilities in “Halo 4” include: Thruster Pack, which provides players with a quick boost in movement speed allowing them to navigate maps at a much faster pace; Promethean Vision, which allows players to view enemies and objects through solid surfaces and walls (although it has limited range); Hardlight Shield, which forms a light-based shield in front of the player that will deflect gun fire and explosives (a bit similar to the Armor Lock ability in “Halo Reach,” but not entirely similar); Auto Sentry, where players will be able to place an automatic turret (with its own set amount of health) down that can inflict damage to other players; and Hologram, a returning favorite from “Halo Reach” with more improvements.
The tactical and support packages in the game include Mobility, Grenadier, Ammo, Firepower, Sensor etc.
“Halo 4” is set for a worldwide release on Nov. 6, with the exception of Japan where the game will be released on Nov. 8. See here for more details.
