Tumblr Turns Native For iOS – Arrives With Improved Updates And Performance

Per reports, popular microblogging service Tumblr has ditched web-oriented service for a new ground-up development, which is quite a massive update for iOS owners.

The new update for the re-worked Tumblr has arrived with a host of improvements, the most important of which is the new dashboard view with faster performance and bigger images. Moreover, GIFs play automatically, and, amazingly, users can now view them frame-by-frame by swiping from left to right.

Tumblr, basically, lets users follow different creators around the world. The app lets users post anything from photos, videos, and quotes to links, texts, and chats. The option to manage all the user-owned blogs, via the multiple blogs option which seamlessly lets users jump from one blog to the othe,r also exists.

Apart from this, the option to select advanced controls which lets the user save drafts and queue posts, alongside an easy camera access that can be attained by just swiping the compose button up is also available. Another important feature is the app's offline support where users can like, post, reply, and re-blog even when they are not connected.

The new updated version 3.2 has arrived with a number of important updates and is now offering improved performance for a smoother, faster, and a more responsive functionality. The features include new blog screens that will offer blog portraits and descriptions.

The new gesture control lets users swipe right on any screen to go back to the previous view, and also long tap photos, links, tags, and post headers for more options.

Exciting new notification previews are also available and lets users know exactly which posts were liked, re-blogged, or replied to. However, importantly, the completely redesigned dashboard provides access to bigger photos and faster post loading and the GIFs now play automatically on the user's dashboard. The user will just need to slide his or her finger across to view frame by frame in Tumblr.

Nonetheless, the eagerly anticipated true iPad support is still missing and may could arrive in the coming months.
