Apple App Store Updated – Allows Checking Prices With Siri

Apple is all set to go the distance before the holiday season sets in. Per reports, Apple is currently updating its Apple Store app for iOS with the aim to gain maximum profit and remove any known glitches before the holiday rush starts.

Apple is now updating its Apple Store app for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch with gift card support and Siri integration. The gift card support will now allow users to purchase Apple Store gift cards for friends and family.

As reported by 9to5Mac, "these gift cards will work in physical retail stores by way of the iOS 6 Passbook application. Additionally, the new app update features Siri integration. Users will be able to use Siri (on compatible devices) to find pricing and details about Apple's products."

In reality, the App Store lets users research, personalize, and buy products from Apple when they are on the go. Users also have the option to use it to make Genius Bar and workshop reservations at the Apple Store, and it is also probably the easiest way to get a new iPhone.

Users can order and buy iProducts on their iPhones and iPod Touch while on the move and pick them up at the nearest Apple retail store, or can have them shipped. The option to personalize an iPad or an iPod with free engraving, alongside a signature gift wrapping for select Apple products also exists. Users can also configure a new Mac with the options they want, including larger drives and more memory.

However, the biggest feature of the App Store is the option to track stuff. Users can view the status of current and previous orders in the order status section.

Coming back to the apps new updated version, the update will now let users buy new gift cards and e-mail them to friends and family right from the app itself. Interestingly, these gift cards are easily integrated with the new Passbook app. However, it is to be noted that this is a U.S.-only service and iOS 6 is required to complete any such action.

The other big update states that Siri has been further integrated to help find prices and shop for Apple products, which however, can only be done via a Siri-enabled device.
