It has been ten days after the Gears of War 4 release and players have had both amazing and annoying experiences playing The Coalition's first major third-person shooter game. GoW4 has been said to deliver the gamer's expectations of an immersive storyline and a multiplayer that boasts a perfect balance of fast action and well-thought-of tactics. Additionally, Gears of War 4 Horde mode is easily considered to be a favorite in multiplayer action. If you still have no idea what we're mentioning here, maybe it's time for you to pick the game up and spend an hour or two or more.
Speaking of Gears of War 4 multiplayer, it has been the latest focus of debunking and confirming game myths. Youtuber named DefendtheHouse has recently tested theories surrounding Gears of War 4 Multiplayer and some of them were actually quite surprising.
Gears of War 4 Dropshot Mines
DefendtheHouse's video on Gears of War 4 myths include the gamers' favorite, Dropshot. A new Gears of War weapon, the Dropshot is a modified mining tool which fires an aerial mine which then floats in a straight line as long as the player presses the trigger. Not to shock or spoil your dinner or anything but when the dropshot directly hits you, the mine will drill into your head, eventually decapitating you, and your body will convulse until the dropshot detonates. So yes, no big deal.
Gears of War 4 dropshots were tested in DefendtheHouse's mythbusting video - if dropshots would collide with each other or with a bullet. However, the myth that you can shoot these mines out of the air was not confirmed but you are able to knock the mine away from you in a melee attack so it's still a good thing.
Gears of War 4 Torque Bow
Another Gears of War 4 weapon that has been tested is the Torque bow. This deadly weapon exclusive to the Theron Guards, Locust warriors, and some high-ranking Palace Guards, is a "muzzle-loading coilgun in the shape of an archaic crossbow" which fires a bolt that has an Imulsion in its head.
The video tested whether Gears of War 4 torque bow shots would ricochet off your team mates. So in the video, a player aimed their shot at a non-moving team mate and it ended up ricocheting towards an enemy player, and happily blowing the enemy into pieces. Team mates can finally give out their sighs of relief when they know you're carrying a torque bow.
Gears of War 4 Multiplayer Myths
Other Gears of War 4 myths tested include whether an engineer's repair gun can damage the enemies in Horde mode, or if a player can kill an enemy with one buzzkill blade. Thanks to DefendtheHouse, those gaming myths are now being answered!
Gears of War 4 is now available for Xbox One and PC.
