Motorola’s DROID RAZR M users are finally set to get Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Per reports, Motorola has announced that it has started rolling out the version of Google's mobile operating system, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, for the DROID RAZR M users.
As reported, the update is being currently pushed out to customers, and the ones who wish to download the update to the software manually will be able to access it via their devices’ settings menu within a week. Interestingly, the new upgrade makes the DROID RAZR M the next Isis-compatible smartphone.
“Announcing Android 4.1 for the DROID RAZR M BY MOTOROLA, now rolling out in phases,” stated the official Motorola Twitter account.
This news is big for the owners of the smartphone as they have waited for nearly over four months since the release of Jelly Bean, while only a few smartphones have been upgraded. However, Motorola's new announcement will be welcomed by customers who have been looking forward to upgrading their devices to the latest Android build. The new upgrade has arrived eight months after Ice Cream Sandwich was released on both DROID RAZR and RAZR MAXX.
To assist its customers, Verizon has also posted a support document regarding the 254.1 MB update. The company notes that it will take up to 30 minutes to download, depending on network conditions. However, after downloading the software, the installation process should take another 15 to 30 minutes, during which the user, as experienced previously while upgrading to a new build of Android, will be unable to make or receive calls, or perform any other actions with the device.
The new Android update for the Motorola device, per the company, is “packed with new features and apps to help you tackle your busy day, like Google Now, Voice Search and better notifications.” Of all the other features, Google Now is something that has outclassed all other new features. Google Now, stated as an "intelligent personal assistant," provides information about the current traffic situation is a certain area, train timings, with the assistance of Voice Search.
