Hitman: Absolution, one of the eagerly-anticipated games of the year, now has a brand new trailer. Reports indicate that IO Interactive, in an attempt to help the gamer get to know Agent 47 better, has released a brand new trailer for the game called “Ultimate Assassin.”
The latest Ultimate Assassin trailer for “Hitman: Absolution” shows the use of Intuition, a newly-developed mechanic that wasn't present in the previous games. Intuition lets the gamer see enemies and targets through walls, keep an eye on their patrol route, and even look for anything that may give the player an advantage if things suddenly go wrong for them.
This trailer is a new one from IO after the last video showed Agent 47 in a living, breathing world. The trailer, titled Living, Breathing World, showed how the people in the world, created in the game, interact with each other, complete with having their own life stories mixed with moments of comedy as well as tragedy. The trailer also highlighted how Agent 47 has the ability to use this to his advantage.
“Hitman: Absolution” is the fifth entry in the “Hitman” game series, and is set to run on IO Interactive's proprietary Glacier 2 game engine. Previously, the developers had already confirmed that “Absolution” will be much easier to play compared to the previous “Hitman” games, and more accessible, but will retain hardcore aspects.
Not much is known about the game prior to its release, but it was confirmed that the game will take place in the United States, and will feature an online option. Moreover, the game will also feature "instinct mode" which will allow 47 to predict enemy patrol routes, something very similar to the "sonar vision" that was deployed in “Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction,” "detective mode" in “Batman: Arkham Asylum,” and "Eagle Vision" in “Assassins Creed: Revelations.”
As always, the “Hitman” series will allow players to create their own narratives within the sandbox levels. However, for “Hitman: Absolution,” developer IO Interactive has recruited a host of Hollywood talent like Powers Boothe and Vivica Fox to help tell Agent 47's latest story.
“Hitman: Absolution” is currently slated for a Nov. 20, 2012 worldwide release, except for Japan where it will be released on Jan. 24, 2013.
