Xbox Live Gold Deal For Black Ops 2, Halo 4 Revealed By Amazon

Amazon has revealed a brand new deal for owners of Xbox who have purchased either “Call of Duty: Black Ops 2” or “Halo 4” or both.

Per the company, by buying either of the two Xbox 360 titles, the online retailer is ready to discount the Xbox LIVE 12 Month Gold Membership to $39.99, which is $20 less than the original manufacturers’ suggested retail price tag.

In order to receive the promotion, interested owners need add the qualifying items described in the offer to their Shopping Carts, where the $10 promotional credit will be applied once the users proceed to checkout, and will show as "Promotion Applied: -$10".

Before going forward with the deal, note that the new Amazon promotion is limited to one per customer and is valid for a limited period. Also note that any of the games sold via Warehouse Deals are not eligible for this promotion.

This deal is a new one from Amazon with regard to the amount of popularity both the games have attained at launch. Currently, “Black Ops 2” has sold a million copies during its midnight launch events at GameStop stores all across the U.S. Keeping in mind that this is only the sales figure for the U.S. alone, it can be expected that the game’s overall figures are actually even more impressive.

“GameStop sold more than 1 million units worldwide during our midnight launch period,” said GameStop president Tony Bartel. He continued that the new “Call of Duty” game “is shaping up to be our biggest game launch of all time.”

If compared to the previous “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3,” which managed to sell 6.5 million units in its first 24 hours on sale, the new “Black Ops 2” is also expected to do much better business as every retailer is expected to sell the game with certain new promotions to attract more customers.

However, not only “Black Ops 2,” but also the newly released “Halo 4” has seen huge popularity among active gamers. It was previously reported that “Halo 4” has generated $220 million for Microsoft in the first 24 hours of being on sale, and that the game is also on track to sell more copies and generate another $300 million by the end of the current week.

“Halo 4” was released exclusively for the Xbox 360 in North America on Nov. 6.
