Netflix certainly has a lot of originals that are well-thought of, and some notable examples include "Orange Is the New Black," "Jessica Jones," and "House of Cards." With its several popular titles, the streaming service has since been recognized for delivering binge-worthy shows.
And just this year, "Stranger Things" was presented to Netflix's huge viewers population. The series was yet another sci-fi drama coming to the small screen, but it was fast to gain popularity (in just two weeks!) that it even nabbed a "must watch" status.
Now that this massive hit supernatural series is renewed for season 2, and with all the spoilers currently swirling, the "Stranger Things" fandom is quick to concoct pieces and forge them into theories. Most premises are still blurry, but with the Duffer brothers confirming some theories are going on the right track, fans may now rejoice that they are finally one with the strange kids and are already getting how things are working around Upside Down. So before we finally see the most-anticipated TV series of 2017, let us look back at some mysteries that might have already been unfolded by theories.
1. Eleven may not be dead, but in second season she will not be the only psychic. Fans are hoping that "Stranger Things" season 2 will have more episodes than in the first installment. That way, the show will give enough time for viewers to get acquainted with the new characters. Two new characters were recently made season regulars and they will play as Max (Sadie Sink) and Billy (Dacre Montgomery). Max was first theorized to replace Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), but realizing that the lead character is irreplaceable (and is already set to appear in season 2), fans are then expecting that Max will play a role closely connected to Eleven that she might even appear as another psychic.
2. Another super power will be unleashed. Fans are also talking about how Will Bryer's (Noah Schnapp) discovers his powers. Theories are strong that Will is going to play a special role in "Stranger Things" season 2 as he is believed to possess strong, dark powers after being kept for a long time in Upside Down. In addition, some antagonists from Hawkins Laboratory are speculated to abduct Will for his powers and subject him to experiments similar to what was done with Eleven.
3. An antagonist will be back. Dr. Martin Brenner (Matthew Modine) is believed to be alive since it is said that he was able to escape the attack of the Demogorgon in the season 1 finale. However, theories say that Dr. Brenner might not be alone in his return as he is said to bring a new character in the Hawkins Lab who will help him experiment with the lives of Will and his friends.
4. One of the new characters will be on the heroes' side, and the other...undecided. Apparently, one of the new characters is the one described to be Dr. Brenner's new apprentice. And fans are certain that it will be Billy who will help make things more complicated for the kids since Max is already theorized as one of the kids. Additionally, reports characterized Bill negatively and it was even noted that he has a dark past that he is covering up. Will he be another villain?
However, another theory claiming that Max is also a psychic like Eleven, says that the two might be made rivals in the show. Other premise talks about Eleven bringing all the horror in town. The monsters are said to be made up by Eleven's fears and that everyone in town is a player of Eleven's mind games. If it proves to be true -- and with two powerful minds fighting -- who knows what might happen to Hawkins.
5. Eleven will open another portal to the underworld. Eleven has opened a portal to Upside Down in Hawkins Lab in season 1. And now that she is believed to be alive and is in Chief Hopper's care, some theories are strong that another portal will be opened by Eleven so her friends can come search for her.
More mysteries about Upside Down are said to be uncovered in "Stranger Things" season 2, and whatever they may be, creators say they are crazier than the fans have thought.
