Bad news for Nintendo Wii U owners. Per reports, Wii U owners will not be getting the Mass Effect 3 Omega DLC, which is set to release later this month on the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
While the Wii U platform has been deemed as unsuitable for the upcoming Omega DLC of the game, the reason for such a decision is still unknown because the game is quite old now and is a launch title for the Wii U as well.
One of the primary concerns for all new potential Wii U buyers, per a Product Reviews report, “is the fear of developers cutting content on Nintendo’s Wii U due to unforeseen circumstances, or reasons that Nintendo or developers really don’t want to make public. We’ve seen how the Wii U versions of FIFA 13 and Black Ops 2 will feature cut content compared to their console counterparts, and now it looks like Mass Effect 3 may be joining that unfortunate list as well.”
When asked about whether the DLC will be available on the Wii U or not, the Twitter account for the game stated: “Unfortunately it will not be available for Wii U. We don’t have anything to announce at this time, but we’ll definitely keep you posted if something comes up!”
The new Omega DLC is set to bring in new weapons characters and a lot of new enemies to the game, and is shaping up to be a fantastic new DLC. It has been already touted as the biggest “Mass Effect 3” DLC ever released and is two times bigger than the previous DLCs released for the game, and is set to bring a host of content to the game.
The new mission takes place aboard Omega Station, the primary den of scum and villainy in "Mass Effect 2." The Illusive Man and Cerberus have now overthrown Overlord Aria T'Loak and he needs Shepard's help to retake the facility.
According to the plot summary, Omega is now under a blockade from Cerberus. Additionally, since the attack did not work, by blocking supply ships, Cerberus now attempts to starve Omega in a bid to get him to submit.
The game summary also indicates that the level's appearance will change to reflect the scenario. The Afterlife becomes quiet with music and flashing lights switching off. Aria requests gamers to "steal into the blockade and board the command ship" so that they can take down the blockade and Omega can be re-supplied.
The Omega DLC is currently set for a Nov. 27 release.
