Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean ROM For Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Leaked

Good news for all the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 owners. Per reports, a brand new Android Jelly Bean ROM for Samsung’s popular Galaxy Note 2 has been leaked for users before Samsung pushes out the official Jelly Bean update.

Basically, although Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update is still under the testing scanners at this moment and is expected to be released for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 sometime in December or January, a pre-release version of the firmware has already been sent out.

Per a SamMobile report, the leaked Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmware, build N7100XXDLJ2, for the Galaxy Note 2 was made public online by a forum member of a Vietnamese Web site Tinh Te. The Web site reports that Samsung has added a lot of new features in its Android 4.1.2 update.

Here are a few features from N7100XXDLJ2:

  • Android 4.1.2 – JZO54K
  • New Additions in Notification Toggles
  • Notification Panel can now be customized
  • Brightness Slider in Notification Panel Can Now Be Disabled
  • Multi-View Can now be disabled
  • Browser Is Smoother Then Before
  • Status Bar has been changed from Grey to Black
  • Continues Input in Samsung Keyboard (Like Swipe or Android 4.2 Keyboard)
  • New Ink Effect On Lockscreen
  • New Group Cast Application

As the above features state, the build’s new additions include the new options in the Notification Toggles and the customizable Notification panel, the ability to disable the Brightness Slider in the Notification Panel per needs, and the ability to disable Multi-View.

There is also continuous input in the Samsung keyboard (something very similar to Swype, or the Android 4.2 stock keyboard), and a new Group Cast application. The Status Bar is also getting a visual change in color, that is, it’s now turning from gray to black. Moreover, there are also some under-the-hood tweaks that make the browser smoother than it was before.

From the screenshots released for the new build for Note 2, it seems like the firmware is bringing the Ink Effect lock screen feature to the device (colors include pink, orange, green, and blue) whenever the S Pen touches the lock screen, except when live wallpapers are in use.
