Top 3 Games You Could've Bought And Invested Time With Instead Of No Man’s Sky

Having an "Overwhelmingly Negative" review on Steam, No Man's Sky has officially become one of the most hated game in history. If you are one of the thousands who have a negative review of the game, with your $59.99, here are the three games you could've bought on Steam and spent time with for a surprisingly low price and high quality gameplay instead of No Man's Sky.

Subnautica ($19.99)

Subnautica on Steam is an early access SciFi-exploration game closest to No Man's Sky. Its gameplay revolves around a water planet where you play as an alien ought to survive on a hostile world. This game has a lot of similarities to No Man's Sky; which includes having futuristic technologies that help you craft items from harvested natural resources. The gameplay is just mainly a loop of gathering, crafting, and exploring, just like in the NMS but a little less complicated in terms of geography since it is only a single world with no deformable terrain.

The Long Dark ($19.99)

Also an early access, The Long Dark is a game set in a frozen wilderness in the aftermath of a geomagnetic disaster. In this survival game, there are no zombies or enemies - only you in the dark - alone, hungry, cold, and struggling to find resources. Although a survival-exploration game just like NMS, what makes it different is, this game is like a simulator of a real-life apocalypse where your main goal is to survive against the hazards brought by harsh weather, wildlife, food and water shortage, other survivors, and the eerie environment.

Don't Starve ($14.99)

Don't Starve is a wilderness survival game with a twist of science and magic. Your character name is Wilson who was sent to a mysterious world by a demon. Don't Starve is a 2D game with a bird's eye view that includes combat against creatures by the use of pointing and clicking with the mouse. Despite having different display compared to the other games mentioned above, Don't Starve was clearly made with the same intention - to experience how it is being trapped in a world full of hostility. Your goal is to not starve and stay alive by collecting resources necessary for survival until you find your way back home.

No Man's Sky is only one of the many survival-exploration games the industry has to offer. There are actually a lot of other games out there that just need discovery and appreciation. With your $59.99, you can browse games that are much worth buying and playing.
