Valve Reveals Steam Autumn Sale

Valve is easily one of the most popular game development companies around, and with different affordable offers for best-selling games, it has held on to its large fan base. However, the company has more to offer this time and per reports, it has announced a Steam Autumn Sale.

The new Autumn Sale is set to continue Steam’s age long tradition of giving users critically acclaimed games at pretty cheap prices and this time, the company’s newest policy will feature daily deals and flash sales along with straight discounts.

The sale started on Wednesday, Nov. 21, and runs until Nov. 26, and the company has also stated that flash sales will start throughout the day. As of now, “XCOM: Enemy Unknown” is being sold at $33.49, which seems like a great deal considering the game has been one of the surprises this year. Another great game up for grabs at an extremely low rate of $16.99 is “Darksiders 2,” which again has received critical praise from fans and critics all around. Moreover, “The Walking Dead” (entire season pass) is now available for $12.49.

Apart from “XCOM: Enemy Unknown,” “The Walking Dead,” and “Darksiders 2,” other games like the complete “Age of Empires 2” and “Terraria” are also up for grabs. Today’s flash sales include “Dear Esther” at $2.49, “Dead Island” at $6.79, “Train Simulator 2013” at $18.69, and more.

As of now, the top-selling games have mostly been the big names in the gaming front. These include “The Witcher 2,” “Rage,” “Dead Island,” “Call of Duty: Black Ops 2,” “Borderlands 2,” “Skyrim,” and more.

The sale has initiated excitement from gamers and has garnered so much popularity in its opening stages that Steam's Web site was intermittently unavailable on Wednesday afternoon. Users were later asked to keep refreshing if they encountered any problems.

Steam has a tradition of holding such sales every few months. Previously, its summer sale kicked off in July with discounts on games like “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3,” “Portal 2,” and “Might & Magic: Heroes VI.”

The new sale has started shortly after Valve announced the launch of a limited access Steam for Linux beta. It was reported that the new client supports the free-to-play “Team Fortress 2” game, while another 24 Steam titles are also available now on Ubuntu.

Additionally, the beta includes big picture mode, designed for use with a TV and controller. Check Steam’s site for more information.
