Slope Tablet Stand For iPad, Nexus & Kindle Fire Runs Kickstarter Campaign

The Slope Tablet Stand for iPad, Nexus 7-10, and Kindle Fire is a promising gadget seeking funds via popular crowdsourcing site Kickstarter.

As tablets are increasingly more popular in today's tech-driven world, tablet stands have gained considerable ground as cool and useful gadgets for tablet owners. Plenty of offerings are already available on the market, but there is always room for better, more competitive alternatives.

"It's attractive, it's minimal, it's got a small footprint and it's made of the most desirable materials available. "It anchors firmly to the desk while getting your tablet upright and out in front of you at just the right angle and height. And given its materials, it feels every bit the solid construction it is. It's the perfect meld form and function," reads the Kickstarter description.

"Slope is made from aerospace grade aluminum. Her minimal form is shaped via CNC machining, her beauty by way of her finish - hand buffed, glass bead blasted, hard anodized and sealed. It's a finish aptly complimenting the craftsmanship of Apple's iPad, with no expense spared."

According to the Kickstarter description, the stand's function is based on suction. The Slope tablet stand has two nanofoam pads attached to its aluminum base - one pad grips the backside of the table, while the other grips the surface of the desk underneath. Both pads are comprised of a special type of foam designed to ensure effectiveness. The stand's structure is designed to hold the tablet two inches off the surface, at a 66-degree slope for optimal viewing on the desktop.

Slope is "entirely platform agnostic," meaning that it works regardless of whether the tablet runs on iOS, Android, or Windows. Meanwhile, the fact that its pads can be replaced means the stand should be quite durable.

The Kickstarter campaign runs through Dec. 20, aiming to raise $60,000. The minimum pledge is $1, and the project has raised $36,800 at the time of writing. Kickstarter is a popular venue for all sorts of projects seeking to raise funds, and crowdsourcing has proved a great solution to kick off interesting products. As with all Kickstarter projects, the Slope Tablet Stand project will only be funded if it reaches its $60,000 goal.
