Samsung, similar to its first Galaxy Note, has again enjoyed profit and popularity with the latest Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Per reports, the next iteration of the popular phablet has now managed to sell a mammoth five million units in just two months.
This is an amazing figure as far as the Korean company is concerned. From the moment the device was introduced until the beginning of November when official numbers were revealed, Samsung had managed to sell three million Galaxy Note 2 devices around the world in just 37 days.
The quad-core phablet also made its way to American carriers and, accordingly, benefited from the huge marketing push Samsung has been doing recently. Now, more numbers have been revealed by the company letting everybody know that Samsung has managed to sell five million units of its flagship phablet.
Moreover, even if the three million mark that was revealed at the beginning of the month counted sales until somewhere mid-late October, two additional million devices in a month, or maybe a little bit more, could be considered as an excellent achievement.
“Though Samsung is facing patent trails with Apple, the year 2012 seems to be a good year for the South Korean tech giant as it took the lead as the world’s best smartphone vendor with a global sale of 42.2 million units in Q1, 52 million units in Q2 and 55 million units in Q3 this year. Further, market researchers and analysts have predicted that the company will be achieving a sales figure of 61.5 million in the last quarter,” a Gizbot report states.
While the second-generation phablet has surpassed five million units of sales, a recent Sammy Hub report states that the original Galaxy Note made the same amount of sales in five months while its successor has achieved the same feat in just two months.
For anybody not familiar with the device’s specifications, Galaxy Note 2 features a 5.5 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with 1280 x 720 pixel resolution, 1.6GHz quad core processor, 2GB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting 32GB, 8 Megapixel rear camera, 1.9 Megapixel front camera, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, DLNA, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth with A2DP and a massive 3,100 mAh Li-ion battery.
