Jailbreak fans, especially the ones owning an iPhone 4S, have some good news heading their way. Per reports, a brand new video has surfaced showing an iPhone 4S jailbreak for iOS 6.0.1.
The new video, if legit, could signal an important discovery in the hunt for a workable iOS 6 jailbreak for the latest Apple devices. As mentioned earlier, a new video, shared by Twitter user @Mr_DunH1ll, has made its way into the web as a proof of his work on a jailbreak with an iPhone 4S on iOS 6.0.1.
“iOS 6.0.1 jailbreaked on iPhone 4S But still having problems,” the tweet states.
Although @Mr_DunH1ll doesn’t elaborate what those problems are, which he mentions in his tweet, it has been known previously that the rest of the iOS 6 jailbreak process is held back by increased security put in place by Apple. The company put these secrutiy measures in place to counter hackers and their attempts to jailbreak the latest iOS refresh.
As far as the video (see below) is concerned, it shows what appears to be an iPhone 4S running iOS 6.0.1 and running Cydia, which is something that is normally associated with a jailbreak.
The uploader, @Mr_DunH1ll, however, is the founder of the ARB Dev Team, which, according to their Twitter profile, is the iOS and OSX Arab Dev-Team. Although not many people have heard about these guys and for some it will be the first time ever, the group’s Twitter feed also shows an iPad jailbreak on iOS 6.0.1.
“The JB Shows on some idevices unstabled especially on iPads wifi and iPods It’s tetherd for A6,” the ARB Dev Team tweet states.
What this means, per the team, is that the iOS 6 jailbreak is tethered for devices with an A6 processor, and while there is no proof of it running on a device with an Apple A6 processor, this could only mean that it is probably an iPhone 5 jailbreak.
While the iPhone 4S gets an alleged jailbreak (per the video), iPhone 5-based jailbreak fans are still waiting for an iOS 6 untethered jailbreak. According to a current report, an official untethered jailbreak might arrive in a few weeks, although it was previously stated that it would arrive in a few days.
