The highly anticipated Oppo Find 5 smartphone is expected to launch in China next month, and a video just re-confirmed its whopping screen and resolution.
The Oppo Find 5 us one of the world's first smartphones to boast a Full HD display with an incredible resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels at 441 pixels per inch (ppi).
Oppo has now made a video for its Oppo Find 5 handset, re-confirming the 5-inch size of the IPS display, as well as the resolution. The video starts with a short walk down memory lane, showing what displays looked like on phones years ago, and culminates with the new Oppo Find 5 and its 441-ppi IPS screen.
According to GizChina, the video also hints at the possibility of a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera. The Oppo Find 5 is expected to pack a powerful Qualcomm S4 1.5GHz quad-core processor and Adreno 320 graphics under the hood, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, dual-SIM (3G/2G) support, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Oppo will reportedly launch its newest smartphone on Dec. 12 in Beijing.
The Oppo Find 5 is expected to cost $480 (about Rs 26,700), but no information is available so far about a global release date. According to analysts, however, the handset will be launched in the western markets for $599 (about Rs 33,500). The smartphone should come in two basic color options, white and black.
On the other hand, the Oppo Find 5 is not the first smartphone rumored to boast such a high-resolution HD display. Ongoing rumors and speculations indicate that Samsung Galaxy S4, LG Optimus G2, and Sony Xperia Odin will also launch with 5-inch 1080p displays with a pixel density similar to the Oppo Find 5's 441 ppi. Moreover, HTC has already launched its J Butterfly smartphone in Japan and its Droid DNA in the United States, sporting a similarly whopping display. Sony is also reportedly working on a Full HD smartphone, the C6603 Yuga, as is ZTE, with its Nubia 5.
