Strange News: Can The Full Moon Really Affect Human Behavior?

Full moon, as we commonly know it, it is just a lunar phase of the moon that occurs when its whole disk is lit up. A couple of historical beliefs and a lot of inconclusive and misleading research assume that the moon has some sway or impact over human behavior.

According to The Washington Post, ancient philosophers believed that the cerebral water might be subjected to the same kind of tidal motions as the sea that is being affected during a full moon. Some versions known as the watery brain theory, which until today, were even believed by some psychiatrist to be true.

Refinery29 has revealed that allegedly, the anecdotes collected by the Journal, states that it has become a common practice for ER personnel to be on a heightened alert for a busy and strange nights where the full moon shows up. In an interview, a nurse said that she has spent the entire full moon night treating a huge number of teenagers with food poisoning. Another case has been reported under the full moon where a creepy feeling of delivering a rare "caul baby" or an infant born that is still inside its amniotic sac.

It has already been a known concern that full moon does represent a major pain for healthcare providers. Some hospitals would even add to the number of their staff during these nights. Especially now that Halloween is just around the corner, a lot of hospital personnel believe that it wouldn't be much of a surprise that the moon's perceived powers would increase as they brace themselves for strange cases on these times.

Moreover, experts believe that as long as these superstitious claims do not affect the way doctors and nurses do their job, they could be considered as harmless. After all, it's still up to the person to decide on how he sees the moon and what it brings.
