Tensai Okamura’s “Kuromukuro” is joining the roster of tv shows that might not get the green light for another season. Despite the anime’s success in the previous installment, it looks like it will not be renewed for a new one.
Per Movie News Guide, the Japanese series is based on the storyline of a mecha and its powerful attack of the United Nations Research Center. It was previously raised following the breakthrough of a strange antique artifact during the development of the Kurobe Dam.
In order to defeat the assaulters, the researchers, pilots and students of Mt. Tate National Senior High School gather together to combat them. A young samurai named Kennosuke Tokisada Ouma, who belongs to Sengoku Era, leads the violent battle. Another interesting character is Yukina Shirahane, a secondary student who became Ouma’s fight partner, is biometrically synchronized with the Black Relic.
As interesting as the plot is the impressive rating of the popular show. In fact, “Kuromukuro” was rated with 7.5/10 IMDb score. Both seasons 1 and 2 were reportedly enjoying positive reviews from the press and its huge fan base.
It looks like the animated sitcom is gearing for a third season in full swing. So what seems to be the problem?
Despite having joined Netflix’s list of movies and tv shows that are coming this month, still the streaming giant has not released an official statement about a third season renewal.
P. A. Studios, the show’s producer is also silent on the impending fate of the show. It might be a good sign of thrilling the audience for a confirmed statement and religiously following a no-spoiler-policy but fans are taking the limited information on the new season of the series as a major hint of its cancellation.
While the showrunner and Netflix are yet to comment on the issue, it’s best to stay positive that “Kuromukuro” season 3 will come to fruition.
