Samsung Galaxy S3 Gets Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Update

Samsung has been cautious not to take any chances in timely updating its devices to the latest versions of Android and Galaxy S3 being its flagship smartphone, the South Korean tech giant has already begun pushing the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update to the international version of model GT-I9300 of the smartphone Wednesday. The roll out comes just a day after Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update was released for the AT&T variant of Galaxy S3 Tuesday.

Galaxy S3 is Samsung's biggest worldwide selling device and so the smartphone gets the highest priority in software update at Samsung; however, not everyone will be able to proceed with the update right away as it is being rolled out in phases, Sam Mobile reported. The Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean for Samsung Galaxy S3 is currently available in Poland and if you find the update unavailable in your country or network (in case the device is Carrier branded), don't worry, Samsung assures that the update will be made available shortly.

While Android 4.1.2 build JZO54K is a minor update to Android 4.1.1, Samsung has brought in many other features to Galaxy S3, mostly from the Galaxy Note II. The most prominent feature it brings along is the Multi View multitasking system which will enable the users to run simultaneous apps on the same screen at the same time. Here are the official firmware details:

Android Version: 4.1.2 - Build JZO54K

Country: Poland

PDA: I9300XXELKC

CSC: I9300OXXELK4

MODEM: I9300XXELKC

While Verizon, the largest carrier in the United States is yet to release a Jelly Bean upgrade for its Galaxy S3 variant, other carriers including Sprint, T-Mobile and AT&T have already released the new versions. The Jelly Bean comes with features such as Project Butter that helps improve system performance and a Siri-like voice assistant called Google Now.

Some of the Enhancements in the new update are:

New Gallery App (Same as in Note II)
