The much-awaited "The Big Bang Theory" season 10 started this September with over 21.5 million viewers during its premiere. With this much viewers, it is out of the question that a season 11 should be in the works. However, it seems like the beloved and very popular geek rom-com series is on its last season.
But if the show is that popular, why is "The Big Bang Theory" being canceled? Well, it turns out the actors are demanding an increase in salary. Currently, the three biggest names in the show which is Kaley Cuoco (Penny), Johnny Galecki (Dr. Leonard Hofstadter), and Jim Parsons (Dr. Sheldon Cooper) rake in $1 million US dollars each per episode of "The Big Bang Theory." The contract was signed in 2014 and it will end after the tenth season. Simon Heldberg (Howard Wolowitz) and Kunal Nayyar (Dr. Rajesh Koothrappali) on the other hand, gets $900,000 US dollars each per episode.
But fret not, it seems like this is just a rumor and is far from actually happening. An insider reported that despite their very high salaries, "The Big Bang Theory" season 11 will definitely happen. The actors are very much committed to preserving the quality and the legacy of the show.
"The Big Bang Theory" Season 10 Episode 6 Spoilers and Air Date
The last episode showed Amy and Sheldon finally moving in together. In the upcoming sixth episode of the tenth season, Amy is throwing a party and she is requiring Sheldon to attend. Fans are speculating that Amy and Sheldon will tie the knot. Could it possibly happen in the party?
While it might be an interesting idea to see the dynamics of a married Sheldon Cooper and Amy Farrah Fowler, the show's executive producer, Steve Molaro, mentioned that his team is not thinking about it.
On the other hand, Howard and Bernadette are having a baby. And though Bernadette was not too keen on babies and children in general, in the next episode, she will finally experience her baby's first kicks.
Molaro said, "The focus has been on Bernadette's own emotional struggles with being a successful and career-oriented person who publicly is not fond of kids and didn't really want one and finding herself pregnant. How is this going to affect her life and career? We've been pretty happy digging into the honest emotions behind someone in that situation. I'm not sure how things will shake out once a baby is in the picture, but for now, we've been enjoying and been occupied with where she is in her head right now."
While the show focuses on the advancement of Bernadette's pregnancy, Penny will be put in a surprising situation. Upon going with Leonard to a comic convention, she learns that her movie "The Serial Apeist" has a cult following and that is rather famous within that circle. Her fanboys were also pleased by the fact that she married Leonard who is a geek like them. It surely looks like another funny and interesting episode of "The Big Bang Theory."
The episode's air date was delayed and moved to October 27, Thursday on CBS.
