NBA fans who watch games on their smartphones can now have a better experience thanks to Mobile View. NBA League Pass will now let users watch live streams of all the games in a zoomed-in view.
Before, NBA League Pass users barely recognized the players while watching an NBA game from their small-screened phones. With the NBA Mobile View, the user is now closer to the game.
The recently released Mobile View is a new option for League Pass holders as mentioned by Tech Crunch. Aside from the "home" and "away" options, subscribers can also choose the Mobile View option which is basically a way for fans to enjoy the games when all they have is a smartphone or a tablet.
Those with League Pass apps designed for TV cannot enjoy this new option.
As mentioned, the game is now closer. Smartphone viewers can see the game in a zoomed-in view. This new feature allows the viewer to actually see the names on the back of the players' jerseys. Before, it was hard to decipher who the players on the court were but all that has changed thanks to the Mobile View.
The Mobile View was made possible through the joint efforts of the NBA and Turner Sports. The collaboration, called NBA Digital, placed a camera in all NBA arenas solely for the purpose of the Mobile View. Each one will have a dedicated producer who will make sure the camera is zoomed at the right player at the right time.
The NBA League Pass is available for $199.99 which is for the full package. Die-hard fans who just want to see their favorite teams can purchase the $1199.99 subscription. Streaming individual games costs $6.99 each.
The NBA is fully embracing technology. Aside from the Mobile View, the league has recently announced that one game each week will be broadcasted in VR or virtual reality. Owners of Samsung Gear VR may watch the games with the help of the Next VR app. Full-season subscribers of the NBA League Pass can also take advantage of this new feature.
