Square Enix has announced that it will re-release the next Final Fantasy instalment on iOS this Dec. 20 while Android gamers will have to wait until the Spring of 2013 for it to arrive on Google Play. The new version is the remake of 2008 Nintendo DS remake of the 1991 original game and this remake is expected feature active-time battles, full-motion videos and a full orchestral theme. The price of the iOS version may end up at around $17.99 after an introductory launch sale.
"Ranging from original and classic JRPG's to music-based rhythm games to puzzle and board games, SQUARE ENIX has all iOS and Android devices covered. In addition, an assortment of previously released mobile games will also be going on sale during the holidays," the company said in a statement.

Final Fantasy IV: The critically-acclaimed RPG, FINAL FANTASY IV, offers diverse cast of characters, deep plot and real-time Active Time Battle (ATB) system. It is based on the full 3D remake released in 2008.

Final Fantasy Dimensions: Drawing upon the roots of the series with features such as 2D pixel art, job-driven character growth and a classic story of light, darkness and crystals, Final Fantasy Dimensions delivers retro and fresh style final fantasy games.
Wizardlings: It is a casual "tap adventure" role-playing game (RPG) set in a fun, fantasy world. Game is set to arrive on the Android devices soon. Wizardlings challenges players to explore landscapes by using magic wands to fight back the shadows that cover the world and reveal the land hidden beneath.
Meanwhile, Square Enix has put Final Fantasy 1 and Final Fantasy 2 for sale at $3.99 each. Final Fantasy 3 comes with a discount as well and is made available for iPhone at $8.99 and for iPad at $9.99. The Final Fantasy Dimensions is priced at $16.99 for all of the series' episodes.
