The popular actor, Jason Momoa, who has both men and women around the world swooning over him, will be starring in a new series called “Frontier” and it has already been renewed for a second season even before the series has started.
“Frontier” is an upcoming Canadian-American television historical drama series that will star Jason Momoa and other celebrities namely Alun Armstrong, Allan Hawco, Landon Liboiron, and Jessica Matten. The series is set to air its first season later this year, which consists of six episodes. The first season will be aired both on Discovery Channel Canada and Netflix internationally.
The series “Frontier” is yet to make its debut on television but it has been decided recently that it has been renewed for a second season. The expansion of the series became definite when the creators knew that they had to delve more in the story set for “Frontier”. “Frontier” is a TV series that will focus on the accounts of the North American fur trade back in the 1800s.
Ken MacDonald, Vice-President and General Manager at Discovery Canada revealed through The Hollywood Reporter that, “As we started to see this cinematic, well-cast, and meticulously produced series come to life as we’d imagine for season one, we knew we’d created a uniquely immersive world and story that begged for expansion to a second season.” He also further said, “Our decision to begin filming another six episodes before the series’ world premiere is a testament to our confidence in Frontier’s world-class storytelling.”
Jason Momoa has clearly hit the jackpot as he's been quite busy filming for roles left and right. He became famous when he was recognized for his perfect portrayal of the infamous character, Khal Drogo, from the “Game of Thrones” series. From then on, he has set on a promising acting career as he will also be playing the role of Aquaman in the upcoming “Justice League” movie, which is set to release next year. Meanwhile, his new TV series “Frontier” will be making its premiere on Nov. 6.
