Pokemon GO Daily Quests: What We Know So Far

Pokemon GO, despite the hiccups it faced over the course of months, is still the number one mobile game of today. And true enough, Niantic is still earning millions after millions regardless of the player pool declining or not. Nevertheless, the studio can't deny the fact that the title needs improvements and a couple of new features. This is most especially if they, well, want to stabilize the future of the game. Speaking of which, an interesting addition could be the so-called Daily Quests. If they are to exist (which they will according to rumors), here's how they'll work.

First off, as noted by the Pokemon GO community, a code was acquired following the data mining that players did to the latest update 0.43.3 (Android). Somehow, in one way or another, the information refers to Daily Quests, a feature that has long been a topic within the game. Although many believed that it'll arrive soon, Niantic -- like what they've always been doing -- has yet to confirm its supposed existence.

Pokemon GO data miners pointed out that the dump file called global-metadata.dat could really be the aforementioned feature. In fact, trainers on the titular Reddit account The Silph Road noted that a particular news about an alleged "quest" code appearing in an APK is somewhat true. Nevertheless, they advised the readers or fans to believe it according to their own discretion, though it's very likely to arrive.

If and only if the information about the Pokemon GO Daily Quest is indeed true or correct, the data miners suggest that it should be introduced any time. Or perhaps, if it won't arrive this year, it's probably on a release window of next year. The latter is actually quite timely, as it could also be the timeline for the highly anticipated Gen 2 update. But given the way Niantic introduces features, the guess is hard catch.

Nevertheless, data miners believe that Pokemon GO won't need a new update just to introduce the Daily Quests feature. That the studio, if there's any truth to this, could simply geo-lock it. And take note: this is something similar to the one they did with the Nearby Tracker feature -- something that's only accessible to players located in San Francisco.

Of course, if the aforementioned strategy is to be taken, most Pokemon GO players will be upset. After all, they've been hoping for a new feature to surface. And if the Daily Quests is among them, it's a bitter pill to swallow indeed.

Furthermore, the aforesaid Pokemon GO feature could include a "First PokeStop of a Day" or "First Catch of the Day" kind of things. The rewards, unfortunately, still remain a mystery, though some suggest incubators will be part of it. Heck, there might even be "streak bonus," which simply means that players are able to complete a certain Daily Quests streak.

Obviously, all of these could stir the interest of all Pokemon GO players. But as long as Niantic continues to play mum, these will all be speculations. And that means, these aren't official yet. Probably in the next few months or so, the company might finally shed some light.
