Evolve Has Come To An End, Turtle Rock Gives Up Support To 2K

Turtle Rock Studios just confirmed the end of Evolve, effectively studio is pulling out its support to the game. Phil Robb and Chris Ashton broke the news but is clarifying that 2K will be handling the game from today.

Turtle Rock Is No Longer Pushing Any Evolve Games

It seems that Turtle Rock is dropping the studio's support on their games starting with Left For Dead that is now under Valve's care. Now, Evolve is being taken over by 2K. Moreover, Robb and Ashton confirmed that the updates for the latter will no longer be available.

Evolve was successful during the first and second launching of the game. Even so, its free-to-play (F2P) version was not appreciated by the players. Records on Steam showed that every month, its number of players are diminishing by half.

According to PC Gamer, however, Turtle Rock is not done developing games, but it is done with Evolve and such type of games. Now, the studio is considering itself lucky not to push through with producing games for the other gaming consoles.

Evolve was first released last 2015. Not many were enthusiastic about the game, but overall it received several positive reviews. The studio did not manage to create an enormous fanbase and after seeing the price of the DLC for the game, players were turned off, in a report on Polygon.

What's Next For Turtle Rock Studios?

According to Shack News, Turtle Rock Studios pulled its support in Evolve, but the studio will continue to create titles for Oculus Rift. The studio is determined to rise up from its failed monster games. The developer is ready to offer new kind of games to its loyal fans.

In Turtle Rock Studios' website, the developer said that it will be releasing two new games for Oculus Rift. First is Other Worlds, which is about being inside of a painting consisting three different worlds created by the artist Justin Cherry.

Face Your Fears is the next VR game being developed by Turtle Rock Studios. The game is about people's phobias and fears. Fear of heights is present in the game wherein the player has to stand on a skyscraper and has to look down while a giant robot has to climb up towards him. It will be launched on Oct. 31.

"Turtle Rock is one of the most creative gaming studios around. We're excited to see them jump into VR and create something that will have users screaming this Halloween," Jason Rubin, head of content at Oculus said.
