"The Vampire Diaries" season 8, episode 2 spoilers tease that Alaric and Georgie might discover the key to defeat Sybil. The evil spirit meanwhile continues to take over Damon's and Enzo's minds.

Sybil In The Loose

Episode 2 titled "Today Will Be Different" has teased Sybil (Nathalie Kelley) will make a few steps up in controlling more minds in Mystic Falls to expand her army. For now though, her hands are on Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Enzo (Michael Malarkey). Sybil has been calling upon Elena (Nina Dobrev) in Damon's vision and this might be a good chance for the evil spirit to fully control Damon. According to some spoilers, Sybil might remove all the memories of Damon.

Key To Defeat Sybil

Meanwhile, Alaric (Matt Davis) and Georgie (Allison Scagliotti) seem to find a cryptic symbol at the armory that might lead them to knowing more about Sybil's identity and how they can stop her. Some spoilers pointed out that Alaric and Caroline's (Candace King) twins Josie (Lily Rose Mumford) and Elizabeth (Tierney Mumford) might be the key to taking down the evil character. It can be noted that back in season 7, it was Josie and Elizabeth who managed to open the vault where Damon and Enzo were locked up with the evil spirit.

In the previous episode, Damon and Enzo opened the season with a ton of corpses they hang around the slaughterhouse. Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) were able to locate them and when talking to them, they discovered that they are not in their sanity. Escaping the booby hatch, Virginia (Aisha Duran) died in a brawl after she attempted to force Seline (Kristen Gutoskie) to reveal what she knew about the pieces of evidence Caroline and Alaric found from the vault cave.
