Battlefield 1 Tips: How To Use The Elite Classes - Flamethrower, Sentry, Tankgewehr

Battlefield 1 Elite Classes are certainly in a class of their own. Here are some tips on how to handle the three Elites in combat.

Elite Class: Sentry Guide

The Sentry is armed with a water cooled machine gun and protected by armor plating. The Battlefield website describes him as a walking tank. The primary duty of the Sentry is to lead the charge making sure that his mates are safe by keeping the enemy defenders' heads down while drawing their attentions to him.

Unfortunately, Sentries do not wear gas masks in Battlefield 1 which is why they must avoid gas grenades as quickly as possible. It is also likely that the Sentry is the first to die in the charge but it's all right as long as his comrades complete their mission.

Elite Class: Tankgewehr

A Tankgewehr or a Tank Hunter holds a large gun. He is more like a sniper except his primary targets are tanks, vehicles and even enemy infantry. The weapon however, requires the Tankgewehr to be in a prone position or the big gun should be in placed in a bipod.

One disadvantage is that the big gun has to be reloaded after firing it. Tank Hunters should take care to pick a position far enough from the enemy but close enough to hit their targets.

Elite Class: Flamethrower

The Flamethrower is probably the coolest Elite in Battlefield 1 if you're a pyromaniac. Imagine burning every one or everything unlucky enough to cross your path. No can resist your fiery charm except maybe a tank. A Flamethrower however, is not invincible and not known for speed either since his field of vision is partly obscured by the gas mask he is wearing.

Flamethrowers have a limited effective range and can be taken out from a distance. Avoid the open spaces and make use of buildings as cover. The flamethrower takes a bit of time "winding up" before spewing out the flames.
