The hit reality show "The Real Housewives of New York City" had an unforgettable season 8 which wrapped in September, but along with the series' success came the saddening news that fan favorite Jules Wainstein opted out for the show's next season. However, the "RHONY" fandom will see another socialite step up the show as Tinsley Mortimer was confirmed to join the busiest and most ambitious women of Manhattan.
"The Real Housewives of New York City" season 8 enjoyed a successful run as it gained almost half a million more viewers compared to season 7. This naturally led to the show's renewal for season 9. While Wainstein played a big part in delivering a rousing season, she aleady bid farewell to the show that has brought her into the limelight and decided to redirect her focus on her family.
The fans of the affluent women of NYC may not have to worry though since the producers of "RHONY" have been quick to insert a replacement. Rumors have it that Manhattan's famous socialite Mortimer will take the place of Wainstein and will grace "RHONY'" season 9 premiere in 2017.
The 41-year-old high-profile woman had a controversial past, which talks claim is one of the major reasons why she is fit for the show. Both Mortimer and the show's production team are still tightlipped about these speculations, but should this happen, fans are expecting more exhilarating twists from the upcoming season. In addition, the socialite's supposed appearance on "RHONY" will not be her first since she already starred her own show called "High Society" back in 2010. Unfortunately, the show suffered relatively low viewership, hence the quick cancellation. The series lasted only for eight episodes.
Mortimer had been a subject of a previous controversy, where she was arrested for trespassing at the home of her ex-boyfriend, Nico Fanjul, in Palm Beach, Florida. But despite her turbulent records, it is speculated that producers see her interesting and that coming up with a unique storyline for her won't be a struggle. Yet apart from these adventures of her life, Mortimer is also a known successful businesswoman who owns a line of classy handbags and inspires a Dior lipstick set.
Some sources stated that Mortimer and her ex Fanjul might both appear on "The Real Housewives of New York City" season 9 as their unhealthy and abusive past relationship is rumored to be part of the businesswoman's storyline. If Mortimer does end up joining the cast, she will appear with the other bunch of Manhattan socialites sometime in 2017.
