Apple's 2016 " Hello Again" event unveiled three new models of MacBook Pros. The New MacBook Pro comes in three variants, two 13-inch versions and one 15-inch device with a new feature called the Touch Bar. The MacBook Air is now out of the picture.
Phil Schiller, senior vice president of worldwide marketing at Apple, introduced one final device before the end of the event - a 13-inch MacBook Pro without the Touch Bar, which is designed to be the replacement of the MacBook Air. Schiller walks through all the ways the 13" MacBook Pro is better than the 13" MacBook Air. It's thinner, smaller, and weighs the same.
Apple has unveiled a second version of the 13-inch MacBook Pro that has traditional function keys and 2x Thunderbolt 3.0 ports, and it's aimed at MacBook Air owners that want to upgrade. It's 12 percent thinner than the MacBook Air and weighs the same. It starts at $1,499, is out today and will get to people within 2 to 3 weeks, according to Tech Radar.
