Nintendo Switch Price, Specs And Other Details Confirmed For January

Nintendo has recently confirmed that it will announce Nintendo Switch price, specs and other details during a presentation dedicated to the hybrid console on January event next year. The company said it does not have plans of announcing other additional information regarding the Nintendo Switch until the said event.

According to Gamespot, the company did not specify anything about what it will share in the event, however there are possibilities that it includes the console's price and launch lineup. In addition, Nintendo confirmed that they will be holding hands on experiences as early as January for their brand new console Nintendo Switch in Japan, the US, Europe and Australia.

The Nintendo Switch has been officially revealed last week. It was formerly known as the Nintendo NX, and currently the Nintendo Switch is a hybrid console that supports both gaming on the go and at home. Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima revealed that the company is expected to ship at least 2 million Nintendo Switch units during the March 2017 launch. He also added that the system will not be sold at a loss as others are.

On the other hand, Geek reported that aside from the mentioned details above, Nintendo will also announce the list of games that will receive support on Nintendo Switch. Based on the report, there are expected two price points for the new console. First is based on its predecessor, the Wii U which has been launched in deluxe form at $350 dollars. Second is the Nvidia Shield, the platform on which the Switch is speculated to be based on, was priced $299 at launch.

Nintendo could choose on either price points for their new console, even though it does not directly compete with PlayStation 4. As listed, the 500 GB model of Sony's popular console is still priced at $299. However, if Nintendo pushes the competition, Switch's price would be most likely start at $299.

Meanwhile, the official date has been set for these information to be released. Based on the sources, Nintendo will be streaming the details live on Jan. 12, 2017.
