It was a big surprise when Disney released its 2017 lineup of their animated films. While there are plenty of exciting releases for the House of Mouse, a glaring absence of a sequel to their 2014 hit "Big Hero 6" is quite noticeable.
"Big Hero 6" follows the story of a 14-year-old engineering genius named Hiro, who adopts his deceased brother's final robotic project called Baymax. When dangerous things started to lurk in this town, Hiro decides to turn Baymax into an efficient crime-fighting machine.
While most rumors point out that the sequel "Big Hero 7" will feature his brother Tadashi to become the main villain, most fans theorized that Tadashi somehow survived the big explosion and will come back with a more vengeful personality. This is not that impossible to pull off, remember that the first film's villain was Professor Callaghan, who was also in the same explosion as Tadashi.
Plus, this is Disney, where magic happens. Certainly, a fight between Baymax and his beloved master would definitely make a compelling and emotional movie. Plus, a fight between the brother who used to be so tight is just as juicy as the first story.
However, another rumor spruces up that takes an entirely different route. According to the source, the plot could have a young Tadashi as the lead and will center on his journey towards creating Baymax.
It doesn't sound that exciting, but Disney has shown a track record of doing well with the thin material. However, it could be that Disney will go with the Tadashi is alive plot, and add snippets or flashbacks of his time when he was an idealistic young man trying to change the world by creating Baymax.
Look for Disney to release this film sometime in 2019 or 2020.
