Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean ROM Leaked, Checkout Flashing Instructions [Video]

Many stories have been doing the rounds in the tech world on the possible release date of Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update. However, it was assumed that the firmware was under the testing phase and Samsung would release Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean for Galaxy Note only in Jan.

Despite all these varying reports, a pre-release version of the firmware has been leaked online. According to a Sam Mobile report, the leaked Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmware, N7100XXDLJ2, for the Galaxy Note 2 was made public online by a forum member of a Vietnamese website Tinh Te. The report claims that the South Korean tech giant has added a lot of new features in its Android 4.1.2 update such as an Ink Effect lock screen and a multi-window toggle on the notification panel among many others.

Some of the new features as listed by Sam Mobile:

- Android 4.1.2 - JZO54K

- New Additions in Notification Toggles

- Notification Panel can now be customized

- Brightness Slider in Notification Panel Can Now Be Disabled

- Multi-View Can now be disabled

- Browser Is Smoother Than Before

- Status Bar has been changed from Grey to Black

- Continues Input in Samsung Keyboard (Like Swipe or Android 4.2 Keyboard)

- New Ink Effect On Lockscreen

- New Group Cast Application

You can download the leaked Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean ROM for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 here. Users should note that this is a pre-release version and not an official one from KIES, and so, the firmware will likely have some minor bugs. However, if you want to try this out, follow the below-given steps. Make sure you have a proper backup of all your important files and data. Before you start, it should be noted that IBTimes will not be held responsible if anything goes wrong during the process of flashing the firmware, proceed at your own risk.

Flashing Instructions:

- Unzip the file

- Open Odin 3.04 (Download here)

- Restart phone in download mode (press Home+power+vol buttons down)

- Connect phone and wait until you get a yellow sign in Odin

- Add N7100XXDLJ2.tar.md5 to PDA

- Make sure re-partition NOT ticked

- Start flash, sit back and wait a few minutes.
