HBO and BBC adapted the novel of well-renowned author J.K. Rowling, entitled 'Cormoran Strike'. Rowling was known for publishing books that were turned into movies, in which Harry Potter became a huge success. She wrote three novels in a series named as 'Cormoran Strike' under the pen name Robert Galbraith. Her secret identity was later revealed by a partner at a British law firm that worked with her.
J.K. Rowling's Cormoran Strike on HBO Series - Camera Starts Rolling This Fall
According to UPI, the novel 'Cormoran Strike' was about Strike, a veteran-turned-privated detective, who was responsible for solving some of the dangerous crimes in London. The first book called "The Cuckoo's Calling", will be a three-hour series along with "The Silkworm" and "Career of Evil", each having two hours running-time. The fourth book will be released next year, 2017.
According to CBC News, the adaptation would be led by Tom Burke, a British stage and screen actor. In the story, the main character loses his one leg while serving in Afghanistan as an investigator in British military's Special Investigative Branch. The start of filming for the series 'Cormoran Strike' would begin this fall in London.
BBC And HBO Collaboration On Post-Potter Books
It was also BBC and HBO that collaborated with Rowling for a TV adaptation of first post-Potter books, The Casual Vacancy. It was aired last year, 2015. Rowling has been proving her brilliance in writing. Just recently, she also wrote the screenplay for the upcoming movie "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them." This would take you to another dimension far away from reality. It will be shown in November 17.
