When you think of WWE, you think of Wrestlemania, the grandest stage of them all. It is where heroes are born, legends are made and this year, another superstar will be bidding farewell.
Wrestlemania - The Superbowl Of Wresting
Wrestlemania is the superbowl of wrestling. It started 33 years ago right in Madison Square Garden and it captured millions and millions of wrestling fans to this day. There's a lot of reasons why after 3 decades it is still the most sought after pay-per-view in wrestling history. The massive stage, grandiose pyrotechnics, the jaw dropping entrance and novel-like storytelling, this is what wrestlemania is all about.
Before the inaugural Wrestlemania, Vince McMahon was already contemplating some ideas on how to showcase the best talents in the roster on a biggest spectacle possible. At first, there was a lot of doubters on how the show would eventually go. But the CEO didn't let those things distract him. After a series of brainstorming with his partners, he finally decided to take it to the next step.
The Icons Of Wrestlemania Take The Spotlight In Retrospect
Wrestlemania was born and ever since then, they were making history. Wrestlemania is not only about wrestling, A-list celebrities and rockstars also have participation on the massive show. Several iconic names made his presences in the squared circle. Names like Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Cyndi Lauper, Mr. T, Motorhead and Kid Rock are just some of the names that graced its presence in Wrestlemania.
This year, the annual event will go back to Orlando Florida at Camping World Stadium. It will be the second time since Wrestlemania XXIV and third time for the state of Florida. Last year in Arlington Texas at AT&T Stadium, they were able to set attendance record as the wowed the fans and provided them a night to remember. This year, a lot of intriguing match is about to happen. And the most import match will be The Undertaker's.
All Hail Cena!
A lot of speculations are made already that this might be the last time we'll see The Undertaker wrestle. As of now, the company is trying to be silent about it but as per sources, there's a plan already on who will fight Taker in Wrestlemania 33. Two names were being discussed as possible opponent of the phenom. First one is the 15-time world heavyweight champion, John Cena.
Now, here me out first, I know a lot of Cena haters will disagree with me but this match will be a fitting end to the Deadman's career. The Cenation leader has and always been known for providing a quality talk about match. He can adjust to any style he is given. And him facing the Undertaker would mean a lot to him and the company as the heart and soul of WWE finally met at Wrestlemania.
Sting vs The Undertaker?
Second, it would be a long shot but Sting was originally planned to face The Undertaker before he got hurt and ultimately retired. Sting and The Undertaker is identically the same. They've been both multiple champions, they were the heart and soul of the company and they are considered as two of the most charismatic enigma in the business. They have a character or persona that haven't change since the Monday Night War(except Taker being the American Badass).
Other matches are discussed as well like Triple H vs Seth Rollins or The Rock vs Triple H. We have Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins vs Dean Ambrose being discussed but I'm not sure on how are they going to build the match since they are not on one flagship. Tag teams belts will be up for grabs as well. The New day's reign might end on the grandest stage of all by The Club. WWE wants to push the rough rugged style, The Club to the top of the tag team division.
The event will take place on April 2, 2017 and they already have a concept on how the site will look like. I'm pretty sure almost all of us is excited on what will happen at the 33rd anniversary of Wrestlemania. But for now, let's check some highlights of last years Mania.
